From the Ping An Tower to Talent Park — three night-view spots in Shenzhen

The Ping An Finance Centre observation deck, Lotus Hill Park, and Shenzhen Bay Talent Park — a paid skydeck and two free parks, three ways to see Shenzhen after dark.

There are two ways to take in Shenzhen at night: ride up a hundred-plus floors for a bird's-eye view of the whole city, or stand on a hilltop or a waterfront and look back at the skyline from ground level. Stringing together the Ping An Finance Centre observation deck, Lotus Hill Park, and Shenzhen Bay Talent Park lets you do both in a single day, and all three are reachable by subway.

Ping An Finance Centre Sky Observation Deck — a glass floor on the 116th floor

First is the observation deck atop the Ping An Finance Centre, one of mainland China's tallest buildings. On the 116th floor, 547 meters up, a glass-floor deck puts the city directly beneath your feet. The 360-degree view comes with interactive touches like AI telescopes and a VR experience, and on a clear day you can see past the Futian CBD all the way to Shenzhen Bay.

The address is 5033 Yitian Road, Futian District. From Gouwu Gongyuan (Shopping Park) station on Metro Line 1, exit D, walk about 60 meters west, then turn onto Futian Zhongxin Er Road. Hours run 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday (last entry 7:15 p.m.) and 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Friday and Saturday (last entry 8:15 p.m.), shortening to 10 a.m.–6 p.m. during the Lunar New Year holiday. As of 2025, admission starts at 190 yuan for adults and 100 yuan for children, with seniors at 120 yuan and two-person packages from 360 yuan. Tickets are mainly booked and paid online by 11:55 p.m. the night before your visit, so it's worth reserving ahead if you're planning to go.

Lotus Hill Park — the Futian skyline from the hilltop by the Deng Xiaoping statue

Second is Lotus Hill Park, not far from the Ping An tower. This roughly 194-hectare hill park has its best-known viewpoint at the summit, around the statue of Deng Xiaoping. Below spreads the Futian CBD skyline, including the Ping An Finance Centre itself — the same city you looked down on from the observation deck, now seen looking up from across the way.

The park borders Honglin Road to the south, Lianhua Road to the north, and Caitian Road to the east, and is a walk from Lianhuabei station on Metro Lines 3 and 10. Entry is free, and the park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. At its southeast corner, where Honglin Road meets Caitian Road, a separate water feature made of large calla-lily-shaped sculptures keeps slightly different hours, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., worth noting if you plan around it.

Shenzhen Bay Talent Park — a weekend light show by the water

Third is Talent Park, on the Shenzhen Bay waterfront in Nanshan District. Billed as China's first park built around the theme of "talent," it covers about 770,000 square meters with reed beds, water features, and an IT-worker sculpture among its landmarks. Across the water stand the headquarters towers of China Resources, Alibaba, Baidu, and Tencent, and once the sun goes down their lit-up silhouettes form the skyline.

By subway, it's about a 1.2-kilometer walk from exit H of Houhai station on Line 2 to the north gate, or about 1 kilometer from exit C of Dengliang station on Line 11 to the west gate — a longer walk than the other two spots. Entry is free, and the park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. On Friday and Saturday nights and on holidays (including the eve of a holiday), a light show plays against the backdrop of nearby towers like China Resources and Tencent; in summer, reference showtimes are 7:30, 8:30, and 9:30 p.m. Times shift with the season, though, so it's worth checking the park's own signage or its WeChat account for the exact schedule on the day. Bicycles and pets are not allowed inside.
