The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is holding the ‘2026 4th National Public Diplomacy Best Practices Contest.’ Under the slogan ‘The world I met, the K-public diplomacy I made,’ it seeks works about experiences that deepened overseas understanding of and trust in Korea through public-diplomacy activities. It is an especially good fit for overseas Koreans, who naturally serve as citizen diplomats while living abroad.

Eligibility is open to Korean nationals, overseas Koreans, private groups and companies, with no limit on team size. There are individual and team divisions, each split into video and written (essay) categories. Works with religious or political overtones may be excluded from judging.

The total prize is 12 million won: a grand prize of 3 million won (1 team), a top-excellence prize of 1.5 million won per category, and an excellence prize of 500,000 won per category. Notably, overseas winners receive a round-trip economy-class ticket and lodging (up to 2 nights) for up to two people per winning team to attend the ceremony — easing the burden on far-away overseas Korean participants.

Entries are accepted online at the contest website. The entry period is Aug 3 (Mon) to Sep 13 (Sun), 2026, 24:00. Details and submission methods are on the entry page below; questions may be directed to the operations office (tel 02-6953-1310, email 00diplomacy@contestweb.net, weekdays 09:30–18:00).
